Conservation Innovation Update: 4th Qtr 2007
Conservation Finance Forum: Conservation Finance Innovation
November 15, 2007
This was the first online event hosted by the Conservation Finance Innovation Network (with assistance from the Government Innovators Network). Our expert panel highlighted several topics of keen interest to the U.S. and international conservation communities, including the recent release of a report on a conservation finance "summit meeting" organized by Pat Coady in New York in the spring of 2007.
Our panel also considered the prospects for international progress on sustainable development as facilitated by such institutions as the Global Environmental Facility (GEF), which both our panel members helped to create and launch. Ample time was allocated for audience Q&A. The forum was moderated by Jim Levitt, Director of the Program on Conservation Innovation at the Harvard Forest, Harvard University. The panel (bios) included:
- Patrick Coady (slides) - Former U.S. Director of the World Bank; Founder, Coady Diemar Partners
- Ian Johnson - Former V.P. for Sustainable Development, World Bank
