This online event was the next in a series hosted by the Conservation Finance Innovation Network (with assistance from the Government Innovators Network), highlighting several topics of keen interest to the U.S. and international conservation communities. Ample time was allocated for audience Q&A.

Ernest Cook led a presentation about the Trust for Public Land's groundbreaking new online Conservation Almanac, the first comprehensive source of information about the state of land conservation in America.

The Almanac contains original data for each of the 50 states on dollars spent on land conservation and acres protected by the states and the federal government, as well as a rundown on the policies and conservation programs at work in each state. TPL's project leaders for the Almanac led an interactive "test drive" during this event.

Michael Jenkins offered insight into the Katoomba Group's mission and achievements in promoting the growth of ecosystem service markets worldwide. He also discussed the Ecosystem Marketplace Web site, a leading international source of information on systems that provide payments for ecosystem services (PES).

Jenkins also previewed the Katoomba XII, the twelfth international meeting of the group, to take place in Washington, DC, June 2008.
